Tilahun Melak (PhD)

Dr. Tilahun Melak has more than 15 years’ experience in teaching, advising masters and doctoral students, research, and community service in the fields of computer science, artificial intelligence, health informatics, and bioinformatics. His major experiences include organizing the 2nd Deep Learning Indaba X 2021 Ethiopia with the theme "Strengthening Awareness and Application of Artificial Intelligence in Ethiopia,” which has been a grand success with a total of 193 participants from national and international researchers, MSc and PhD students, industry, government, and non-government artificial intelligence companies, and 14k online attendees. He has conducted research entitled “Integrated Data Mining and Network Flow Approaches to Identify Potential Drug Targets of Plasmodium Falciparum” as the principal investigator. He has published research in repeatable journals that have been highly cited, presented scientific findings at various conferences, and reviewed works for international journals.
