Dr. Berhanu Beyene

Dr. Berhanu Beyene is an accomplished IT Project Manager, International Consultant, Researcher, and Educator with over 30 years of experience in Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. He holds a Doctorate in Natural Sciences (Dr. rar. nat.) in Computer Science from Hamburg University, along with MSc and BSc degrees in Computer Science and a BA in Economics from Addis Ababa University. He also has postgraduate diplomas in Higher Education (Addis Ababa University) and Project Management (University of Bradford, UK), with specialized training in E-Learning, ITMS, ITIL, and Networking.

Dr. Berhanu has led significant projects, including serving as General Manager for the Water Utility Management Information System, a 30 Million Birr World Bank Project in Ethiopia. He has taught MSc/MA and PhD courses in Data Science, Cybersecurity, and IT Project Management at prestigious institutions in Germany, Hungary, and Ethiopia, and supervised over 50 research theses.

He has developed key policies, such as the Blended E-Learning Policy for TVET, and served as an International IT Consultant for organizations like GIZ, UNESCO, and the East African Law Society. His training expertise includes Digital Diplomacy, Servant Leadership, and Instructional Design in collaboration with Ethiopian government bodies.

Dr. Berhanu founded the Africa Institute of Governance and Development, successfully graduating leaders from 11 East African countries, and has led international collaborations in teaching and research through European Erasmus++ support. He has chaired the National E-Learning Advisory Council and is the founding President of the Ethiopian Cybersecurity Professional Association.

Known for his proactive and creative approach, Dr. Berhanu is dedicated to serving humanity and building sustainable networks and partnerships. His work continues to make a significant impact in IT, Education, and Development.
